DOUGHTY – Lonnie Lee, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, formerly of Franklin, VA passed away Tuesday, March 25, 1997 at Holy Cross Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in New Bern, NC on September 14, 1909 to -Herbert B. and Janie Bell Doughty. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mildred Williams Doughty; daughters Elaine D. Burkhart, Linda D. Mahoney, Carolyn D. Chio and Gwynn D. Kellis; a son Reverend Dr. Louis T. Edwards; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister; a brother; an d numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a service Thursday, March 27, 2:00 PM at Kraeer Funeral Chapel. Services will be held in Franklin, VA on Saturday, March 29 with Interment to follow at Poplar Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Imperial Point Colonnades Shuffleboard Club, in care of Anthony E. Ross, 2200 NE 66th St. Ft. Lauderdale 33308, or to Pompano Beach Shuffleboard Club in care of Art Jaffe, 405 N. Ocean Blvd. #1102, Pompano Beach 33062. Arrangements by KRAEER FUNERAL HOME, 200 N. Federal Hwy, Pompano Beach 941-4111.
