Louis “Lou” Lee Boyd, Sr. died at Sutter Roseville Medical Center in Roseville, CA on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 after being visited and comforted by his family. Lou was 97 years old. Survivors include his sons, Patrick, Robert, and Louis, Jr. and their wives, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Lou was preceded in death by his wife
of 53 years, Margaret. Born January 14, 1918, in Mill Creek, OK, he is survived by his sister.
Edith Lumpkin of Richmond, VA. He lived in Honolulu, HI, Paradise, CA, and Rohnert Park, CA before moving to Roseville, CA. Lou served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict while stationed in HI and VA, retiring as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. His second career was Purchasing Manager of an electronics firm in Palo Alto, CA, retiring in 1983. Services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, June 27th, at the Glen Oaks Memorial Park, 11115 Midway, Chico, CA. A reception will follow. Memorial donations are welcome for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
