Mrs. Edwin T. Lang, 73, had a heart attack while attending church Sunday morning in Harper, and was dead on arrival at the Hill Country Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1971, at 9 a.m. in Schaetter Funeral Chapel and at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Harper, with the Rev. A. A. Gitter officiating. Interment followed in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Rosary services ere held Tuesday evening in the funeral home chapel.
Mrs. Lang was the former Ottilie Ida Brinkrolf, a daughter of Anton Brinkrolf and Anna Fritz Brinkrolf. She was born June 7, 1898 in Kendall County. She married Edwin T. Lang May 5, 1918, in Harper and he survives.
Other survivors, in addition to her husband, include the following children: Adeline, Mrs. Oren Cottle, Harper; Jocelyn, Mrs. John Hughes, Austin; Ellis Lang, Comfort; Edwin Lang Jr., Austin; Lillian, Mrs. Norman Sullivan, San Antonio; 1st/Sgt. Joseph Lang, Fort Lewis, Wash.; Bernice, Mrs. Robert Spruill, Poquoson, Va.; SMS Paul J. Lang, Converse; 32 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three sisters; Amalia, Mrs. Walter Lang, San Antonio; Ida, Mrs. Edward Klein, Tivydale; Christine, Mrs. Alfred Klein, Fredericksburg.
She was preceded in death by Edmund Brinkrolf, Louis Brinkrolf, and Clara, Mrs. Jacob Roeder.
Mrs. J. J. Moritz was the organist.
Pallbearers were Gene Jones, Harold Jones, Randall Sullivan, David Sullivan, Matthew Lang and James Lang.
