Juanita Puckett Hutchinson, age 81, Big Rock, Va., passed away Friday, June 19, 2009 at a Grundy Virginia Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born October 3, 1927 in Dickinson County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Adam and Lizzie Belcher Puckett. She had been a Christian since 1939 and a member of the Big Rock Church of Christ. She was a retired employee of the Buchanan County School System. She served as a custodian at the Big Rock Elementary School until 1994. She loved being a homemaker and caring for her family. She was a truly virtuous woman. She was the wife of Robert L. Hutchinson who passed away on March 10, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her second mother Theresa Puckett, two brothers Hurcel Puckett, Wise (W C) Puckett and one step sister Hazel Belcher Parrott. She was mother to six children: Robert James Hutchinson and wife Nell of Home Creek, Va., Janice Hutchinson Griffith and husband Tommy of Hurley, Va., Roger Allen Hutchinson, deceased June 9, 2000 widow Rebecca, Everett Eugene (Gene) Hutchinson, Bristol, Va., Hazel Theresa Hutchinson of Big Rock, Va., and Adam Benton (Benny) Hutchinson of Big Rock. She was a grandmother to Neal Clevinger and wife Tina, Valerie Clevinger Massengill and husband Kenny, Thomas Griffith, Greg Griffith and wife Emily, Robert John Hutchinson, Jennifer Hutchinson Ratliff and husband Mark, John Allen Hutchinson, Jason Battone, Robert L. Hutchinson, Jessica Hutchinson, Adam Hutchinson and Makayla Hutchinson. She was a great-grandmother to: Christinia Clevinger, Chasity Clevinger, Zachary Massengill, Amanda Massengill, Gregory Griffith, Timothy Griffith, Kaitlyn Ratliff and Matthew Ratliff. She was a sister-in-law to Dolores Puckett, Dallas Hutchinson and wife Ellen, Josephine Hutchinson, Ruth Hutchinson and Carol Hutchinson. She had many nieces and nephews.
