Mrs. Leila Pearl "Peg" Norris age 90 died at 8:50 a m Saturday in an Erie nursing home. She was a former resident of rural Walnut. Mrs. Norris resided in several nursing homes since 1975 and suffered broken a hip in 1978. She was critically ill the last two weeks. She was born Jan. 3, 1893 in Ames, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Inman, As a young lady she came to Erie with her family, She and James L, Norris were married Nov 4, 1919 in St Paul, They lived in the Erie and St, Paul areas until 1936 when the couple moved to a farm west of Walnut. He died Sept 14 1966. Mrs. Norris had served as a substitute mail carrier in Erie before her marriage. She was then a homemaker and cared for her family which included a set of triplets and a set of twins. She also was a cook at the St. Patrick's school cafeteria in Walnut for several years She was a member of St Patrick's Catholic Church in Walnut and the church's Altar Society. [Survivors omitted for privacy.] She was also preceded in death by a son, four brothers and a sister. Requiem Mass will be at 10:30 a. m. Tuesday at the St Patrick's Catholic Church in Walnut with the Rev James Wilkinson officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The Altar Society recited the rosary at 3 this afternoon and the Daughters of Isabella at 3:30. The parish will recite the rosary at 7 30 tonight at the church. The Burris-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in St Paul is in charge of arrangements.
