Susanne Roberts Martin, 66, of Winnfield, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 22, 2015 surrounded by her loving son Chase and his family, in Pottsboro, Texas, after a long illness.
A memorial service for Ms. Martin will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 27, 2015 in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Winnfield, with Lamar Carpenter officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM prior to services.
Susanne Delight was born to Thomas "T.F." and Inez Roberts on October 28, 1948 in Winnfield, LA. She graduated from Winnfield Senior High School in 1966 and went on to attend Louisiana Tech. During her work years in Winnfield, she held positions with the Winn Parish School Board, Huey P Long Vocational School, LSU Cooperative Extension Service, Winn Parish District Attorney's Office, and Louisiana Political Fame Museum.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Inez Vaughn and T.F. Roberts, her grandparents Mae and Calvin Robinson, and Mr. and Mrs. George Roberts, as well as her son, Jarrod Long.
Survivors include her son Chase Machen and wife Lisa of Pottsboro, TX, two grandchildren Morgan and Blake Machen, two aunts Carrie Sandifer and husband James of Winnfield, and Jessie Anyan of Minden, cousins, Rita and Mark Malone of Calhoun, Jim and Carla Sandifer of Ruston, Wayne Sandifer of Winnfield, Tony, Colton, and Caleb Sandifer of Winnfield, Chad Anyan and Gary Berberet of Los Angeles, CA, and Connie, Michael, Mechelle Buie, and Ben Durbin of Winnfield.
