Edward L. Alexander, 79, of Berlin died Jan. 30, 1998, at home. Born May 19, 1918, in Ralphton. Son of William H. and Annie (Stern) Alexander. Preceded in death by parents; sisters Ethel Hahn and Bessie Pyle, and brothers Robert, John and Paul. Survived by sister Romaine, wife of James Matthias, Fairview Park, Ohio, and brother Charles, Johnstown. Brother-in-law of Jack Pyle, Salisbury; Mary Alexander, Kittanning, and Katherine Alexander, Stoystown RD. Retired maintenance worker for Carnegie-Mellon Institute, Pittsburgh, with 23 years of service. Friends will be received at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 11 am. Monday, the Rev. Richard H. Cornwell officiating. Interment, Horner-Mt.
