Randall Banks Sr., 79, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at 6:55 p.m., at The Senior Village Nursing Home in Wilkesboro, N.C. surrounded by family. The beloved son of Edna Fowler White and Willie Banks, born Jan. 16, 1936, in Lamont, Mississippi. He relocated to Gary, Indiana, to reside with his father, complete high school, and raise a family.

A proud veteran, he served in Korea before joining the workforce at Inland Steel. Randall Sr., and wife Barbara, moved to Lincoln after he devoted 37 years as a steel mechanic at Inland Steel Corp. in E. Chicago, Ind. The dynamic duo settled in Lincoln and quickly became pillars to family, friends and church members. He was an ordained deacon at Christ Temple Church prior to his recent move to North Carolina.

Leaving to cherish memories: wife, Barbara, 61 years of marriage; sons, Randall (Claudia) Banks Jr., Dennis Banks, Brian Banks, Austin (Mary) Banks, and Melvin Pennington; daughters, Valerie Mitchell, and Rhonda (Rondell) Swope; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral services on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Christ Temple Church, followed by burial with military honors at Wyuka Cemetery.
