He was the son of Bill and Elaine (Mack) Wendel, who survive in Botkins.
Also surviving are a brother, Jason (Abby), Botkins; six daughters: Jackie (David) Beverly, Atlanta, GA, Lisa (Jim) Knox, Westerville, Cherie (Bill) Phillips, Chattanooga, TN, Elen (Rodney) Reaman, Anna, Rebecca Wendel, Toledo, and Julie (Jason) Rickert, Grand Prairie, TX; and multiple nieces and nephews.
A 1983 graduate of Botkins High School, he was employed at Wells Brothers, Anna, for over 17 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins. An avid hunter, he took great pride and joy in being associated with several hunting related organizations including Shelby Co. Fish and Game Club and Shelby Co. Whitetails Unlimited where he served as coordinator. He was also a member and official measurer of the Pope and Young Club, the Buckeye Big Buck Club and the Boone and Crockett Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins, with Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
