Amory – Bessie Mae Anderson Mitchell, 91, died on Monday, June 22, 2015 at River Place Nursing Home in Amory. Born November 3, 1923, in Monroe County, she was a daughter of late Chester Abner and Mary Alma Manasco Anderson.

As a youth, Bessie attended school in Becker. After school, Bessie had a very important job, she was a housewife and a mother. She married Malcolm Mitchell in December of 1942 and together they raised four children. Bessie loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the Unity Baptist Church. If asked what gave her the most enjoyment in life, she would tell you it was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved working in her flower beds, fishing, and cooking for family. Gospel music was her favorite and she really enjoyed attending Gospel Singings.

Survivors include her daughter Bonnie Tate (James), Amory; sons, James Mitchell (Doris), Amory, Ralph Mitchell (Shelby Jean), Smithville; grandchildren, Bill Tate, Brad Tate, Kim Roesink, Mark Mitchell, Candy Sheffield, Ginger Huguley; great- grandchildren, Tyler Tate, Kayla Tate, Morgan Mitchell, Walker Mitchell, Tate Roesink, and Connor Roesink; great-great-grandchildren, Colton Arnold; a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Bates; grandson, Chuck Taylor; great-grandson, Scott Gray; sisters, Annice McAllister, Voncile McNeece; brothers, Elmer Lee Anderson, Relmon Anderson, and Troy Anderson.

A Funeral Service will be at 11 A.M., Thursday, June 25, 2015, at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Ronnie Sutton and Bro. H.V. Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Mitchell, Tim Roesink, Bill Tate, Brad Tate, and Tyler Tate.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, from 5P.M. until 7 P.M. at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory.
