Captain U.S.A.A.F., WWII Ace, 442nd Night Fighter Squadron, died on transition training flight at Greenville A.F.B. when his Lockheed T-33A jet trainer impacted the ground. Shared credit with Lt. Herman E. Ernst with the first radar intercept kill of a German V-1 "Buzz Bomb" (16 Jul 1944).
