Obituary of Wilma Woods

Mrs. Wilma Lee (Berry) Woods, age 89, longtime Educator of San Augustine, passed from this life on Friday, April 24, 2015, in San Augustine. Wilma was born to Ollie Amelia (Newberry) Berry and George E. Berry on December 23, 1925, in San Augustine, Texas.

She was a Educator having taught School in the San Augustine Independent School District for 38 years. She was a charter member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas; a member of the Scarlet Hatters of San Augustine and member of the Triple L. Group. She was a member of the San Augustine County Cowboy Church in San Augustine.

Those who are left to cherish her memory include, her husband of 69 years, Burnard L. Woods of San Augustine; Her Daughter, Berry Lynn (Woods) Lenox and her husband, Scooter of Georgetown; Son, Don Woods and his wife, Ruth Ann of Texarkana, Arkansas; Her beloved grandchildren, Misty Lynn Marek; Casey Leigh Maddeaux and her husband, Scott; Justin Woods and his wife, Tera; and Joey Lenox and his wife, Chelsea; Great-Grandchildren, Mayce Marek; Anna Woods, and Stella Maddeaux.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015, in the San Augustine County Cowboy Church, with Bro. Chris Burris officiating assisted by Charles Sharp.

Visitation will be Sunday evening, April 26, 2015 from the hours of 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wyman Roberts Funeral Home.Pallbearers will include, Steve Sublett; Joe Sublett; Phil Sublett; Edward McEachern; David McEachern, and Billy Archer; David Davidson, Charles Donald Boyette and Dan Fussell. -
