KIRK – Kenneth “Ken” B., 79, Patton, passed away May 30, 2015, at UPMC Altoona. Born Sept. 9, 1935, in Patton, son of Emerson and LuLu (Weber) Kirk. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Lee, Emerson, Mahlon and Bob Kirk; and sisters, Vivian Boes and Thelma Turley. Survived by his wife, Mary (Bem) Kirk, whom he married Oct. 5, 1957; children, Don (Sally) Kirk, Patton; Karen (Herb) Clapper, New Enterprise; Michele (Joe) Gelormino, Patton; and Dr. Kevin (Mary) Kirk, San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Emily and Jonathan Kirk; Michael, Anna and Stephen Clapper; and Andrew and Leanne Kirk; sister, Hilda (Andrew) Matava, Orchard Park, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ken was a 1953 graduate of Patton High School and served with the U.S. Army as a specialist 3rd class. He retired from PERCO as an armature winder after many years of service. Member of Patton American Legion Post 614. Ken volunteered with the Patton Pavers and enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 5, at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton, Pa. 16668, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday by Pastor David O’Hara. Committal, St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Hastings. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Suite 200, Bethesda, Md. 20814.
