Mafia Murder Victim:
Peter "Pete" Panto (1911 – July 14, 1939) was a longshoreman and union activist who was murdered by members of Murder, Inc., allegedly on the behest of Albert Anastasia, "Tough Tony" Anastasia and Joseph P. Ryan, for attempting to revolt against the mob-ridden Dock Workers Union leadership.

Panto's murder was rumored to have been carried out by Mendy Weiss, Tony Romanello and James 'Dirty Face' Ferraco of Murder, Inc. Abe Reles and Albert Tannenbaum were to give testimony in 1941 implicating Albert Anastasia but Reles later died mysteriously in Coney Island's Half-Moon Hotel in Brooklyn on November 12, 1941.

Panto's body was found on January of 1941, in a lime-pit in Lyndhurst, New Jersey.
