Anita P. "Mema" Hodges, 87, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 23, 2015.

Anita was a very compassionate, dedicated Christian and spoke often of her faith and tried to point everyone she knew to "accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior." In her younger years she attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Millville and was a founding member of Springfield Baptist Church. She worked with her husband, Charles, in music and youth ministries and was very passionate about helping wayward youth find the right path in their life.

Later in life Mrs. Hodges enjoyed painting, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends as well as studying the Bible and listening to her favorite TV evangelists. She also dearly loved her cats. Her favorite, Sheba, was faithful to the end and was with her when her spirit departed to be with the Lord.

Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Earl Hodges; son, Doc DeWayne Hodges; father, Charles Otway Bauler; mother, Mary Belle Cotton Bauler; sister, Thelma Eunice Blount; grandfather, Charlie Cotton; grandmother, Eunice L Cotton; numerous aunts and uncles.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Terry A. Hodges and wife Betsy, C. Jeffery Hodges and wife Sharon; daughter, Paige Parrott and husband Randy, 6 grandchildren; Anna Bruner Funk (Bill), Larry Bruner (Kendra), Scott Hodges, Amy Hodges Fall (Chris), Erin Leathers (Greg), William Hodges; and 3 great grandchildren, Victoria Leathers, Dylan Leathers, and Audra Leathers.

A Memorial Service is to be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Tuesday, September 1st at 10Am. Rev Jean Hodges will be officiating.
