CHARLOTTE BELLE LAWRENCE PENNINGTON, age 68 years, a resident of the Teaberry Hills Community, Elkins, West Virginia, departed this life Wednesday afternoon, June 29, 2005 at her home.

She had been in declining health for the past four months as the result of a heart attack.

She was born Friday, July 24, 1936, at Lanesville, West Virginia, a daughter of the late James M. Lawrence and Rev. Goldie M. Pennington Lawrence.

On October 27, 1952 at Cumberland, Maryland, she was married to Otto M. Pennington, who survives.

Also surviving are six sons, Dennis Pennington and wife, Sandra, Darrell Pennington and wife, Janet, Sabin Pennington, all of Winchester, Virginia, Scotty Pennington and wife, Michelle, Kevin Pennington and wife, Cathy, all of Elkins, and Reverend Eric Pennington and wife, Cammie, Fort Chiswell, Virginia, one daughter, Sheila Lloyd and husband, Bill, Winchester, Virginia, two brothers, Erroll Keith Lawrence and wife, Martha "Marty", Elkins and Samuel David Lawrence and wife, JoAnn, Belington, West Virginia, two sisters, Barbara Sue Berry and husband, William, Parsons, West Virginia, and Althea June Judy and husband, David, Elkins, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death besides her parents are two brothers, James, Jr. and Loren Jackson Lawrence, three sisters, Gladys Roy, Maxine Minge, and Lola Pennington, and two great grandsons, Ryan and Dallas Lloyd.

She attended the schools of Lanesville and was a homemaker.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife who also loved cooking, gardening, beautiful flowers, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of the Hambleton Pentecostal Church of God, and more importantly, she loved the Lord and was ready to go home to be with Him.

The Heavenly Choir is sounding sweeter today with the addition of her beautiful tenor voice.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Friday from 6 until 9 PM.

On Saturday, July 2, 2005, Mrs. Pennington will be moved to the Hambleton Pentecostal Church of God where friends will be received from noon until 1 PM, the funeral hour.

The Reverend Eric Pennington, the Reverend Gloria Roy, and the Reverend Joshua Pennington will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, West Virginia.
