In Alfred, N. Y., Sept. 4th, 1874, Mrs. Rachael Green, in the 61st year of her age. For some three years she had been suffering from poor health, but about three weeks before her death the disease assumed a more threatening form, resulting as above stated. Mrs. Green had for many years been a worthy member of the Second Seventh-day Baptist Church of Alfred. By her patient life under trials, her forbearing and gentle spirit, her devotion to deeds of charity, and her purity of life, she not only won the sympathy, confidence, and affection of those in covenant relation with her, but also of all who knew her.
