Service will be at 1 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Kerry Rhon Thomas, 38, Rainbow City, who died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006. The Rev. Bill Davis will officiate. Burial in Gum Springs Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory directing.

Mr. Thomas was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Thomas was a graduate of Coosa Valley Tech with a degree in welding, with his specialty in underwater welding. He was a Journeyman and was employed at Republic Steel, Hardy Corporation and Anniston Army Depot as a welder.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his grandmother, Edna Davis; grandparents, Mary and Eugene Thomas; and uncles, Danny Campbell and Eddie Cotter. Rhon was a loving and devoted father, son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Eugene Thomas, Rainbow City; son, Cody Thomas, Rainbow City; daughter, Sky Thomas, Rainbow City; grandfather, Jimmie Davis, Ashville; special friend and companion, Joslyn Hughes and daughters, Anna Bailey and Mary Elizabeth, Gadsden; uncle, Edward Davis, Rainbow City; aunts, Frances Campbell, Steele, and Judy Cotter, Dothan; and aunt and uncle, Mary and Dan Levinson, Ashville.
