Eamon was one of the 658 employee of the investment firm Cantor Fitzgerald who perished on September 11, 2001. The firm was located on the 101st through 105th floors of the World Trade Center Tower One These floors were between 2 and 6 floors above where American Airlines Flight 11 struck the building.

Before he started to work at Cantor Fitzgerald, Eamon attended Cornell University where he was an All American Lacrosse player from 1975 to 1977. During 1976, he was also on the All Ivy football second team as a wide receiver. In 1992, Eamon was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. In April of 2002, Cornell University retired his Number 10 jersey in his memory.

Eamon was also a writer and poet. His family published a posthumous volume of his poetry titled A Bend in the Road. His wife published a collection of stories from the 9/11 family members and friends recounting supernatural encounters with those who lost their lives that day.
