She was born Esther Pauline Ogden on Feb. 22, 1943, in Bakersfield, Calif. On July 4, 1969, she married Roger Jackson in Lompoc, Calif. For two decades she had been a leader in the fight against domestic violence as director of the Women's Crisis Support Team. In 1998 the Talsunne House opened which she was instrumental in developing. She also served on the first Governor's Domestic Violence Task Force Council since 1992, and the State Services to Children and Families Domestic Violence Advisory Council. She was also a founding partner of the Coalition for Kids Family Resource Center in Grants Pass. She was also active in the Human Rights Alliance.
Jackson was a member of Soroptomists International.
She enjoyed the arts, music, and all children's activities.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Kelly Perry of Grants Pass; a son, Ian Jackson of Eureka, Calif.; a brother, Randy Ogden; and four grandchildren. A daughter, Jill Perry, died May 13, 1997.
