Edwin G. "Pinky" Robinson, 76, of 35 W. High Street, New Bloomfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2015, in The Manor at Perry Village.

Born December 26, 1938, in New Bloomfield, he was the son of the late George and Evelyn (Hoffman) Robinson.

Ed was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, New Bloomfield; he was a retired employee of Bloomfield Borough with 38 years of service.

He was everyone's friend and borough residents can all tell a story of how "Pinky" kept the streets of New Bloomfield clean and brush picked up on a daily basis.

He, and his son Rick, also maintained the sewer plant.

He was a Borough Councilman for many years.

He had also had worked at Masland's in Carlisle, Charles Good as a bricklayer, The Community Snackbar, and for Gary Wright at the former New Bloomfield Food Rite and he helped Gary with his racecar.

He was an active member of the New Bloomfield Fire Co. and had been an ambulance driver and was chief of the fire police for many years.

He also served as New Bloomfield's resident Santa and handed out hundreds of gifts to many children.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a constant companion to his wife Ethel and their two shelties, Tiny and Kara.

He loved Elvis Pressley memorabilia, NASCAR, old cars, antiques, and playing the lottery.

He was a great storyteller and loved to bake for friends and family.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Ethel (Klinger) Robinson, a son Ricky Robinson and daughter Deborah Shrawder and husband John all of New Bloomfield. 3 grandchildren, Chastity Zeigler and husband Matthew of Loysville, David and Jonathon Shrawder of New Bloomfield; 3 great-grandchildren, Danielle, Matthew, and Tyler of Zeigler of Loysville, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Keck, and 2 brothers, Herman Robinson, and Jack Robinson.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, in the Boyer Family Funeral Home, 101 W. Main St., New Bloomfield. Rev. Gloria McPherson will officiate.

Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday evening 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

A luncheon will follow the burial at the New Bloomfield Fire Hall.
