Deborah Lynne Blackburn, 60, Gas City, died in her home at 9:22 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born in Norton, VA, to the late Lloyd and Loretta (Lawson) Bowman. On September 30, 1989, she married Rufus "Frank" Blackburn, and he survives.Deborah was a graduate of Mississinewa High School. She received her Associate Degree from Indiana Business College and worked as a housekeeper with Open Door Home Health Care. She attended Eastview Wesleyan Church. Deborah enjoyed listening to music and spending time with her family and best friend, Sarah Simmons.In addition to her husband of 25 years, survivors include her daughter, Chelsea Blackburn, Gas City; grandchildren, Gage Chidester and Tori Beene; siblings, Billy (Sally) Bowman and Eddie (Erin) Bowman, both of Jonesboro, Sharon (Jack) Blackburn, Fairmount, Diana (Larry) Hurlock, Gas City, and Roger (Bev) Bowman, Marion; best friend, Sarah Simmons; and dogs, Pepe and Noah; and two special caregivers, April Russell and Jennifer Dyson.Also preceding her in death were her daughter, Rachel Bowman; son-in-law, Derek Comer; and one of her dogs, China.The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.A Celebration of Life service will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Gas City.Memorials may be directed to Deborah's husband, Frank Blackburn, and grandchildren.Special thanks to Above and Beyond Home Health Care and Quality Care Ambulance for all of the love and great care given to Deborah.
