Roland was killed in a automobile accident.
"Roland G. Flynn, son of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Flynn, was instantly killed in an auto accident at Hamilton and Florence Streets Tuesday evening. He was born March 9, 1929 in Saginaw, and had lived here all his life. He attended Arthur Hill High School and graduated in the class of 1947. He was active in school athletics, starring in basketball and track. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church. Besides his parents, he leaves one sister, Sharon, at home.
Funeral service will take place at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Case Chapel, 9 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church. Msgr. John J. Sonefeld will officiate. Burial in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Roland may be seen at the chapel after 7 p.m. today, where friends will meet at 8 p.m. Thursday to recite the Rosary."
