A. J. Jester, 78, of Tahoka passed away from this life on Saturday, July 1, 2006 in Lubbock. He was born February 10, 1928 in Howe, Okla. to the late A.D. Jester and Lillie Faulkenberry Jester. He married Margie Tomlins on March 27, 1948 in Tahoka. They lived in Floydada for 18 years before moving back to Tahoka. Mr. Jester retired in 1992 after working as a dispatcher for Lyntegar for many years.

Those surviving him are his wife, Margie Jester; two sons, Curtis Jester and wife Cheralyn of Slaton and Terry Jester and wife Dawn of San Marcus; one daughter, Pat Hinson of Lubbock; five grandchildren, David and wife Heather Jester, Brent and Saundra Jester, and Adam and Lacy Jester; one great-grandson, Branson Jester; three sisters, Lois Hodges of Lubbock, Earlene Fenton of Slaton, and Margie Womack of Stamford.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today, July 3, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Tahoka with Rev. Richard Harbison officiating. Interment will be in the Tahoka cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Tahoka EMSat P.O. BOX 1310 or First Baptist Church Building Fund at 1701 Avenue K in Tahoka.
