Lawrence married Shirley Johnson on September 27, 1958 in Sycamore. He graduated from Sycamore High School and then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Union Local 219. Lawrence was a member of the Lindenwood Union Church and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed building model ships, golfing, watching sports, and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Sycamore; his children, Shellee (Allen) Sandy of North Port, Alabama; Mandy Knudtson of Seattle, Washington, Michael (Melanie) Powell of Monroe Center, Illinois; granddaughter, Sage and one on the way; brothers-in-law, Dale (Linda) Johnson and Jim Bell; sister-in-law, Joyce Crawford; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, his step-mother, Mary Fabrius, and four sisters.
Special thanks for Anam Glenn and Serenity Hospice for taking good care of Larry, allowing his last days to be comfortable and peaceful.
