Savannah Annette Harkless Taylor

Savannah Annette Harkless Taylor was welcomed to the “Gates of Heaven” on Friday, June 12, 2015. Born to Seautry and Carolyn Harkless on April 6, 1961, in Bay City, Texas. She grew up in Galveston and attended Galveston public schools.

She leaves behind her husband Richard Taylor, Daughters LaToya and Rickesha Harkless, Grandsons who she loved dearly, Paul and K’Dreyion Martin and Khris Clay Jr. who coined the name “Bannah.” An Honorary son Khris Clay Sr., Step daughter Tiny Fontenot. Siblings, Seautry and Rotonda Harkless (Chad), Leslie Amos (Howard), and John Williams. Nieces and nephews, Antoinette (Patrick) and Harmony Harkless, Robert Alford Jr.(Aurea), Nathaniel and Ashlee Vallery, Miracle Smith, Roshelle Briscoe, Damica, Ash’real, Howard, Ariannah, and Lexi Amos. As well as Reynaiya Alexander, Rajahe Harkless, and Paryce Jackson.

Savannah is preceded in death by parents, Seautry and Carolyn. Step father Lexie Williams. Sisters, Paula Ann Williams, Brenda Williams Jackson, and Bonita Harkless Murphy.

Savannah was known for her personality and was always the life of the party, whether there was one or not. Over the years living in Galveston and later in life relocating to LaMarque, Savannah made many, many devoted friends. Charles Thornton, Ollis Johnson, Lisa Brown, Netta Allen, Wanda LaDay, Connie Howard, Cindy Doty, Rhonda Franklin, Marshe Loftis, Helen Solanzo, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Allen, and Jerry Patterson are some of those who meant so much to her.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20th at Carnes Funeral Home located at 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM. A Memorial Service will follow beginning at 12:00PM. A repast will be held at Carnes Funeral Home following the Memorial Service.
