Funeral services for Mr. Vernon Earl Bostick, Sr. will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2015 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with Bro. Allen Eppinette officiating. Committal services and interment will follow at the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 18th, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

Mr. Vernon Earl Bostick, Sr. was born August 1, 1927 in Loranger, Louisiana to the late Maggie Maxwell Bostick and Robert Marvin Bostick. He passed away, surrounded by his family, on June 17, 2015 at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop. Mr. Bostick was a Master Mason and he retired from both International Paper Company and Morehouse Parish School Board. Vernon was a God-fearing Christian man, devoted husband, and loving father.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and mother of his children, Alta Mae Bostick and his wife, Mable Perry Bostick. He is also preceded in death by five sisters, Eunice Audrey Bostick Mecom, Elma Lois Bostick McDonald, Ruth Myrtle Bostick Piallette, Joyce Geraldine Bostick Smith, Katie Catherine Bostick Smith; three infant sisters, Gladys, Jewel, and Viola Bostick; three brothers, James Tavener Bostick, Charles Edward Bostick, and Billy Gene Bostick; his son-in-law, Robert Wayne Brooks, I; grandson, Robert Wayne Brooks, II; and great-grandson, Robert Wayne Brooks, III.

Mr. Bostick is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Brooks; four sons, Donnie Ray Bostick and his wife, Linda, Michael Wayne Bostick and his wife, Jeanie, Bardell Bostick and his wife, Rhonda, and Vernon Earl Bostick, Jr. and his wife, Cecelia; step-daughter, Elaine Wilson; sister, Maxine Beebe and her husband, Ray; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous loved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Craig Bostick, Chris Bostick, Curt Bostick, Chase Bostick, Seneca Bostick, Charles Michael Bostick and great-grandsons, Gabe White and Trent Williams.
