Ann Markham married William Gee in Toft, England in 1841. They moved to Canada in the late 1840's and were pioneers in the North Dorchester area. William built a log cabin where they lived, farmed and brought up their fourteen children: Mary Ann, David, Martha, and Alfred who were born in England; and James Markham, Daniel, Mary Ann, Elizabeth, William, Eliza Alice, George A, Frederick Dickinson, Frances Emily V, and Annie Victoria who were all born in Canada.

Sadly, Anne died in the insane asylum in 1908. She is buried in Dorchester Union Cemetary.
