Charles E. Bales, 86, died at the I.O.O.F. hospital at 9 a.m. Sunday, following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at Redfield, Iowa, Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be at the Wiscotta cemetery at Redfield.
Mr. Bales was born July 2, 1862, at Redfield. He had been a lifetime resident of Dallas county, until he moved to the I.O.O.F. home Sept. 19, 1948. He was a member of the Redfield Lodge No. 153 of the I.O.O.F.
In June, 1882, he was married to Alice Thomas, who preceded him in death. A son, Don O. Bales, Superior, Wisc., survives.
