Enlisted on 1863; mustered in as Private, Battery L, on 11 Jul 1863; promoted to Corporal on 3 Jun 1865; transferred to Battery C on 24 Jun 1865; mustered out on 25 Aug 1865.

N.B.: The regiment was mustered into federal service as the 11th Vermont Volunteer Infantry in September 1862. In mid-December 1862, it was officially redesignated as 1st Artillery, 11th Vermont Volunteers.

This is a cenotaph. Actual burial is at Middletown CT.
