Velma Ruth Rodgers was born November 3, 1963 in Pascagoula, MS to the late Jim R. and Lena Mae Greer. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, having a good time with her family and friends. Velma was a family oriented woman who loved God and loved making others happy. Velma Rodgers entered into eternal rest on June 11, 2015 at the age of 51.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jimmy Greer, nephew, Antonio Hawkins, and mother-in-law, Claudia Rodgers.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 26 years: Larry D. Rodgers; daughters: Shamera (James) Monroe and Laterica Rodgers both of Pascagoula, MS; sons: Kintarius Greer of Moss Point and Quincy Greer of Pascagoula, MS; step-daughters: Tirrany(Aaron) Frost of Moss Point and Kenya (Michael) Johnson of Missouri City, TX.; brother: Timmy (Ledora) Greer of Ocean Springs, MS; sisters: Bettie (Late Leroy) Sullivan of Pascagoula, MS and Rosic (Mitchell) Peterson of Harpersville, AL; grandchildren, Elijah Monroe, Summerayne Landry, and Termayne Batiste; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and a special friend, Maxine Robinson of Pascagoula, MS.
Services will be 11AM Friday, June 19, 2015 at Christian Love in Moss Point. Visitation will be at the church two hours prior to service time. Burial will follow at Scranton Cemetery.
