Carl Edward “Buddy” Marshall, 78, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Marshall was born on January 5, 1937 in Richmond to the late Robert and Christine Whitaker Marshall. He retired from the Madison County Board of Education and was a member of the Peytontown Baptist Church.
He is survived by: one son, John Edward Marshall (Brenda), one daughter, Roberta Burnell (Kevin); two sisters, Mattie Sue Shelton (James) and Linda Faye Smith; four grandchildren, Tanya Marshall, Stephanie Harrison (Junior), Chris Burnell, and Brandy Burnell; three great-grandchildren, Halee, Trentin and Collin; care-giver, George Kaylor; long-time care-giver, Sonya Hobbs; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, families and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Pennington Marshall; one daughter, Anna Marie Marshall; and one sister, Dorothy Marshall Parsons.
Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. James Robert Marshall, and Rev. Johnathan Tussey officiating. Burial will follow at the Madison County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: William Hendricks, Neil Burns, Junior Harrison, Matt Burns, Michael Burns and Shane Bowman.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Kevin Burnell, Chris Burnell, Mitchell Smith, Tommy Still, Lester Smith, James Shelton; Randall & Barbara Burns and Paul Parsons
