Mary Ann Janssen, age 84, Mattoon, died Wednesday, June 16, 1993 at Langlade Memorial Hospital, Antigo. 

She was born May 30, 1909 in the town of Hutchins, the daughter of the late Lambert and Mary (Schattl) Fischer. 

On August 28, 1929 Mary was united in marriage to William Janssen in Mattoon. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1981. 

Survivors include one son, Carl (Sandy) Janssen, Neenah; five daughters, Patricia (Edwin) Marten and Joan (Philip) Zarda, all of Mattoon, Dorothy (Donald) Wirth, Antigo, Marlene (Edward) Beran, Birnamwood and Bonnie (Richard) Sippl, Mequon; one sister, Anna Schmidt, Mattoon; 24 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; andtwo great-great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death byone son, Robert, two brothers, one sister and one grandson. 

Funeral services were held June 19, 1993 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mattoon. The Rev. David Kiefer officiated. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
