Funeral services for Frances Madie Hicks, 91, will be held at 10:00am Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville with Rev. Glyn Nale & Rev. Kurt Auger officiating. Burial will follow in Bird's Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hicks died on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Arbor Lake Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

A lifelong native of Union Parish, she was a member of Bird's Chapel Methodist Church. She loved to sew, bake, garden, do ceramics and crochet. She won several awards for her ceramics and crochet. Mrs. Hicks was a member of the Farmerville Eastern Star Society.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Clara Lockwood; father, Wesley Lockwood; husbands, DeeLee Nale, Dale Cole and James Hicks; brother, Elmer Lockwood and sisters Cecile Viles and Eugene Orton.

Survivors include five daughters: Imogene Green & husband Gary of Sterlington, Florene Aycock & husband Benny of Junction City, Beth McDougal of Marion, Nena Hendry of Truxno and Bertie Abercrombie of Truxno; three sons: Billy Nale & wife Loretta of Leesville, Dodson Nale & wife Pam of Old Union, AR and James Peyton Nale & wife Karen of Collingston; brother, J.H. Lockwood of Bastrop and sister Marene Delaney of Victoria, TX; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 3 great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Brad Nale, Stefan Green, Shane Abercrombie, Wes Aycock, Greg Aycock, and Reggie McDougal. Honorary pallbearers are Mickey Nale and Nicholas Turner
