He lived in Plympton in the house in which his father had lived. Afterwards his brother Isaac bought the home place, and he removed with his family to Easton, Massachusetts. And he was engaged in the work of the foundry there. In 1751 he is listed as one of the original owners (one-sixteenth part) of the furnace business at Furnace Village, along with about ten others. Each men is identified as either "gent", or yeoman, laborer. He, though, is "founder", but did not get a major share.
