Joyce Olsen returned peacefully to her Father in Heaven on June 5, 2015. He granted her desire to live at home until her time was finished on this earth and to depart without complication. She was born being named Charlotte Joyce Miller on November 22, 1936, to Denman H. and Viola Miller in Auburn, Wyoming.

She graduated from Star Valley High and LDS Seminary and spent one or two summers working in Jackson, Wyoming. Joyce cherished the memories of her youth and her family. Even as these final years dimmed her eyes and mind, her countenance would sparkle to recall the beauty of Star Valley and especially her father.

Joyce married E. Marvin Olsen in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. They had 4 beautiful sons and eventually settled in Tremonton, Utah to live the remainder of their lives.

Joyce worked as a bank teller and in the office of the local phone company. She was an amazing homemaker and would sew clothing for her boys, hand-dip chocolates and knit baby booties for the grandchildren and then great grandchildren. She crocheted and repaired countless alter cloths for the local Temples. Joyce learned to cook so well that she became a food demonstrator at the Ogden ZCMI.

She served in many callings as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Relief Society President. She loved music and was a Church chorister, choir director, pianist and organist throughout her life and most recently for the Spanish Branch in Tremonton. She continually sought to serve the people that she knew and loved and countless people will recall receiving regular loaves of bread that she would make and deliver with the kindest heart.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Marvin Olsen, sister Ruth Kennington, brother Earl Miller, son Blaine Olsen, son Lee Olsen, son Eric and daughter-in-law Tracee Olsen, and Kevin Olsen, and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Denman Miller, Mother Viola Miller, and sister Eleanor Kennington.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 6:00 — 8:00 p.m. at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E. Tremonton, UT). The funeral service for Joyce will be held at Tremonton South Stake Center, 1150 South Tremont Street, Tremonton, UT on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will also be held at that location from 9:30 — 10:30 a.m., just prior to the funeral. Interment will take place in the Riverview Cemetery, Tremonton, Utah.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Tremonton 9th Ward Relief Society for providing the family luncheon.
