Luella Belle Myrtle Weimer Neckels passed away on June 8, 2015 in Auburn, Calif. at the age of 97. Luella was born in Church's Ferry, N.D. on April 7, 1918, one of 13 children born to John McClay Weimer and Cora Bertha (Hineline) Weimer.
Luella is predeceased by her beloved husband Kenneth Neckels, her son Ronald Neckels, and 12 brothers and sisters. She taught kindergarten through tenth grade in rural North Dakota and Livingston, Montana.
After marrying Kenneth on December 12, 1948 they moved to California. In California she worked in clerical administration at Sharp Army Depot, French Camp, California and Tracy Defense Depot, Tracy , California until retirement.
Luella is survived by her son Terry Neckels of Foresthill, Calif. stepdaughter Carol Bowman of Polson, Mont., and stepson Arlen Neckels of San Andreas, Calif. Luella is lovingly remembered by her 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Luella enjoyed caring for her rose garden, rooting for the San Francisco Giants and spending time with her family. Luella was also a founding member of the New Hope Lutheran Church in Foresthill, Calif. The funeral services will be held at New Hope Lutheran Church, 22200 Foresthill Road, Foresthill Calif. 95631 on June 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
Burial to follow at Foresthill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Hope Lutheran Church.
