Clyde was a retired Postmaster, having served as acting Postmaster in Hamlet, transferring from there to Rocky Mount where he was a fleet manager. He was appointed Postmaster at Marble in 1979 and retired that same year due to the health of his wife. Mr. Morris was a veteran of World War II and also retired from the N.C. National Guard. He was a life member of the VFW Post 8989 and a former commander of that post. He was also a life member of the DAV Chapter 54. He is survived by several nieces and nephews
