Youngest of four children born to Walter and Wyoma Coles, Carmel was born at home on the family ranch outside of Haines Oregon. She loved animals, she even had a pet coyote. She loved flowers and enjoyed growing a beautiful garden. She was an artist. She would mix salt, cornstarch and water and fashion perfect little animals from it. She did oil paintings, pen and ink drawings and made beautiful pictures using ordinary crayons and whatever paper that was handy. She loved her parents dearly calling them "the folks" and she loved all her family. Her husband Charles Clinton Garrison preceded her in death as did their firstborn, Olivia Mae Garrison. She leaves behind their daughter Candy Gossman, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews and many cousins. She was and is loved utterly.
