GENE McCOLLUM RITES SUNDAY
Gene McCollum, 40 of Laclede, died Wednesday morning, July 29, 1981.
Services will be Sunday at Laclede United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Laclede Cemetery.
Gene was born Apr. 7, 1941 in Brookfield, the son of Jewell and Nolita Maxine (Cheek) McCollum. He married Betty Foster on Oct. 22, 1960.
Mr. McCollum is survived by his wife; three sons and a daughter, Farron, with the U.S. Navy in San Diego, Gary, with the U.S. Navy in The Phillipines, Brian and Tiffany, both of the home; his father of Cameron; and a grandmother, Mrs. Nannie McCollum of Brookfield.
He was preceded in death by his mother. Mr. McCollum was a member of the Laclede United Methodist Church and the Teamster's Union. He had served two terms on the Laclede city council.
He was a driver for Churchill Truck Lines until illness forced his retirement.
