Ruth “Libby” Elizabeth Twombly Hooper, 67, of Troutman, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015.

She was born on Sept. 17, 1947 in Statesville, to the late Wallace Irving and Birdie Whitener Twombly. Ms. Hooper was a retired Registered Nurse for the VA Medical Center in Salisbury.

She is survived by her son, Brian Hooper and wife, Elizabeth and daughter, Ann Hall; sisters, Susan Martz, Lugene Grey; grandchildren, Amanda Slater, Arin Hall, John Hall, Brianna Hooper and Bradley Hooper; and great grandchildren, Alexa and Christopher Slater.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, January 10 at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church with Rev. Jamie Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow the service at New Perth United ARP Church Cemetery in Troutman. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30-2:30 PM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky Mount United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1739 Perth Road, Mooresville, NC 28117.
