Martha Louise (Pence) Ball, 84, of Richmond, Indiana passed away on June 10, 2015 at Golden Living Center after fighting a long illness. She was born on January 21, 1931 to Cooper and Alice (Settles) Pence. She was the youngest of twelve children. Martha lived in Richmond her entire life.
Martha married Robert L. Ball on January 3, 1947. They were married for fifty years. Martha enjoyed her role as a homemaker and a mother, raising six children. In her spare time, Martha found time to pursue her interests with an occasional turn with Richmond Civic Theatre musicals, expressing her love of music and her hidden acting talents. She also enjoyed playing her organ and piano. On occasion she would visit local nursing homes to entertain the residents with her music and songs. Along with the love of family and home was her great enjoyment of writing poetry. In her poems she would the love of her family, friends, faith, and dreams. She particularly enjoyed her title of "published" poet. ~
Survivors include her daughter, Marsha Fox of Richmond, Indiana, her sons Ronald and Mike Ball, both from Richmond, Indiana, and her brother Charles Pence of Richmond, Indiana, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, sons Dennis, Larry, and Robert Jr. Ball, brothers Paul, Lawrence(Tom), George(Butch), Richard(Tub), and Robert(Bob), sisters, Helen, Marian(Peg), Alice Mae, Francis, and Gladys.
Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday June 15, 2015 at Greens Fork South Cemetery with Rev. Ed McFarland officiating. There will not be any public calling. Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home is handling arrangements
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Golden Living Center for their loving and comforting care during her stay and also to Asceracare hospice for all their attention to her physical, emotional, and spiritual needs
