Maxine O. Wells, 94, of Coal City, passed away at Glenburn Nursing Home, in Linton, January 16, 2013 following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Coal City, September 7, 1918 the daughter of Lewis D. and Stella (Bashaw) Collenbaugh. She married William Donald Wells June 27, 1936; he survives.

Mrs. Wells was a member of the Coal City Church of Christ and a charter member of the Busy Bee HomeEc Club. She was a terrific cook and enjoyed playing euchre, watching I.U. Basketball and raising her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Wayne Collenbaugh.

She is survived by her husband of 76 years Donald Wells of Coal City; a son Gerald Wells and wife Nelda of Spencer; a daughter Wanda Francis and husband William of Clay City; four grandchildren: Darla Thomas (Bill) of Spencer, Kevin Wells (Kelli) of Bloomington, David (Connie) Francis of Coal City, and Janell Grafe (David) of Clay City; 12 great grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; a brother Arthur Collenbaugh and wife Marge of Coal City as well as several extended family members.

Services for Maxine will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, January 19, 2013 at 2:00pm with Brother David Grafe officiating. Burial will follow at Fiscus Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 11am until time of services.
