Sister Veronica Brockhoff, age 92, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Thursday morning, June 4, 2015 at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
The former Bernice Brockhoff was born on December 11, 1922 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Paul Joseph and Anna (Weina) Brockhoff. She entered the Convent in 1936 and professed her vows in 1941. Sister Veronica served as a homemaker at St. Mary, Bloomington, SS Peter and Paul, Kiel, St. Rose, Clintonville, St. Therese, Appleton, Sacred Heart, Oshkosh, St. John, Antigo, Holy Family Convent & Silver Lake College, Manitowoc, Catholic Memorial, Waukesha, St. Joseph, Green Bay, St. Paul Home, Kaukauna, all of Wisconsin; St. Mary, West Point, Nebraska; St. Willibroad, Chicago, Illinois. After serving as a homemaker, Sister Veronica was the Laundress and Coordinator of the Clothing Shop. Since 2010, she has been a resident of St. Rita Health Center at the Motherhouse. She is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Audrey and Joe Samz, Annette & William Samz; and a sister-in-law: Jane Brockhoff. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Paul and Anna (Weina) Brockhoff; four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Grace and Herbert Schisle, Dorothy and Joe Novak, Arlene and John Zarnick, Margorie Brockhoff; and four brothers and one sister-in-law: Joseph and Violet Brockhoff, Robert Brockhoff, Paul Brockhoff and Melvin Brockhoff.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2015 at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Finian Zaucha, O.F.M. with burial at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2015 and Monday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
