Doyle L. Miller Sr., 80, of Puxico, MO, formerly of Granite City, IL, passed away at 7:00 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2015 at his home with his wife and family by his side. He was born December 26, 1934 in Clarkton, MO to Harley Shane and Ruth (nee: Clifton) Miller. On May 24, 1992 he and Mary A. Oros were married in Granite City, IL. Doyle was a great crappie fisherman. He was in several crappie tournaments in OK. where he won first place. Fishing was his passion. He was a graduate of Clarkton High School in MO. He later served in the U.S. Army. Doyle worked at Granite City Steel as a welder for 20 years. He moved to Hugo, OK and worked as a welder at Western Farmer Electric Co-op until retirement. In 1998 he moved back to Puxico, MO. Besides his wife Mary A. (nee: Oros) Miller of Puxico, MO he is survived by, four daughters, Karen (Robert) Bosworth and Susan Bridgeman both of Granite City, IL, Kristina (Jim) Barnes of AL and Jennifer (Dustin ) Wyatt of IL, three sons, Doyle L Miller, Jr of Granite City, IL, James Miller of MI and Harley Shane Miller of OK, three step children, Randi Ann May of AZ, Stacy Thomas of TN, and Joe Crotts of IL, 8 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren,15 great- grandchildren, 1 step great-grandchild. He will be sadly missed by his landlords, the late Mr. King and Mrs. Gale King of Jackson, MO, his employer, farmer Art Norris, farmhands Dale Norris and Gary Dearduff, Jimmy & Eddie , all of Puxico, MO, his good fishing buddy Monty Allbright of St. Louis, MO and many more dear friends. He was preceded in death by both parents, and two grandchildren, Craig and Chuckie Bridgeman. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory in Granite City, IL where the funeral service will be on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. Memorials may be given to his wife Mary Ann Miller.
