TWIN FALLS — Carl B. Ames, 85, a longtime Eagle resident, died Monday evening in Twin Falls after a sudden illness while visiting a daughter.
He was born May 26, 1885, at Diller, Neb., and married Maggie Zweifel in Washington, Kan., on March. 1, 1905. She died July 21, 1966.
Mr. Ames moved to the Boise Valley in 1935 from Bayard, Neb., and farmed for many years before retiring.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Vern (Pearl) Mitchell, Twin Falls, and Mrs. Tom (Ruth) Johnson, Rupert; two sons, Lloyd Ames of Tucson, Ariz., and Paul Ames, Star; a brother, William O. Ames, Rupert; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a son.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel In Caldwell by the Rev. Keith R. Maxwell. Final rites will be at Canyon Hill,
