Gerald "Jerry" Blair Marsh, Jr., 48, of Wells, Maine passed away June 10, 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Jerry was born and raised in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts where he met and married his wife, Judi, of 24 years. They then relocated to Wells in 2003.

Jerry was a devoted husband and father of 5 children; Blair, Casey, Ryan, Bailey and Ethan. He was born November 29, 1966 in Hyannis, MA and was a graduate of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School and Dean College. For the past 18 years he was employed as the Director of Communication of Information Center for the Department of Youth Services in Boston.

Jerry enjoyed reading, music, politics, gardening, hunting, fishing, and camping but his main source of joy was spending time with his family. He was an avid sports fan and loved to golf himself but could most often be found at the ice rink or various fields cheering on his kids and their teams. When the children were small, Jerry was a Cub Master and looked forward to the annual pinewood derby and the canoe trip down the Saco River. Being involved in one activity wasn't enough when you had 5 children with various interests. Jerry was the president of the Wells High School Athletic boosters and spent countless hours dedicating his time to the student athletes. As a coach of youth baseball, hockey and lacrosse, he could be heard bellowing across the venues encouraging and supporting the kids. Jerry was genuinely passionate about working with the kids and encouraging them to grow to be good people, sometimes teaching them life lessons through his quick wit.

Jerry raised their children to know him as a man who had so much compassion for others he often put himself last. In essence, Jerry has bestowed upon them the ultimate gift; to give of themselves to others. Because of his dedication to the community he grew up in as well as the community he later settled in, he touched the lives of so many.

Jerry was not afraid to pack up the family of 7 in the style of a Chevy Chase vacation movie to head out to spend quality time together. Jerry may tell you he wasn't a people person but he was the guy sticking french fries out of his nose to bring a smile to your face. He himself always has a smile on his face. He loved a good prank, but nothing that would hurt anyone - laughter was his only goal. While raising five children could be very trying, Jerry always kept his sense of humor. This "grumpy" sort of guy was really much like an M&M…hard candy shell on the outside with a real soft spot on the inside! Even though he denied it, Jerry was the epitome of a people person.

Jerry is survived by his wife Judi, 3 sons and two daughters: Blair, Casey, Ryan, Bailey and Ethan; father, Gerald Marsh, Sr. of South Yarmouth, MA his mother Sandra Marsh of Middleton, NH, his brother and sister-in-law Thomas Marsh & Elizabeth Welch-Marsh of N. Hampton, NH, and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.
