Betty Jean Sammons, 80, of Portsmouth, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015, at her residence. Betty was born June 6, 1935, in Louisa, Ky., to the late Riley Davis and Josephine Williamson Davis. She was a homemaker and a member of Paul's Chapel United Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Sammons, August 10, 2010, whom she married July 18, 1951, in Louisa, Ky.; four brothers; four sisters; and two grandsons.

She is survived by two sons, Tim (Sandi) Sammons and Tom Sammons; three daughters, Randa Jordan; Cathy (Phil) Mathis and Drema (Mick) Burgett; a sister, Odalene Smith; nine grandchildren, Ryan Jordan, Jason Jordan, Taya Mathis, Bianca Sammons, Michah Weisbarth, Amber Crawford, Jeremy Mathis Samanth Welsh, Ian Sammons; twelve great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, Ohio. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 16, 2015, from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour before the service on Wednesday. Pastor Ray Williamson and Ed Culwell will officiate with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

She was loved, and so were we.
