Billie Jayne LeForce passed on to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by family, on June 25, 2014. She had just celebrated her 71st birthday.

She was born June 23, 1943, to Ethel and Billy Lawellin of Nash, Okla. She was the fourth daughter and Billy was insistent she would be a boy. When she arrived on that summer day very much a girl, the name they had chosen, William Jay, wasn't going to work. Obviously, that would not do for this little girl, and that is how Billie Jayne got her unique name.

Billie Jayne met Henry C. LeForce, of Nash, in high school. They both went on to attend Oklahoma State University, where she received a degree in biology. While at OSU she was a member of the Orange and Black Quill, served on Student Senate and the Independence Women's Residence Council.

On July 11, 1964, Billie Jayne and Henry were married at Nash Baptist Church.

Henry C. and Billie Jayne moved to Augusta, Ga., where Henry C. was stationed in the Army and Billie Jayne taught high school biology.

They moved back to Pond Creek in 1966, to raise their children on the family farm. Even though she left teaching behind in Georgia – her teaching spirit never left. Billie Jayne would take every opportunity to teach those around her, it was a passion she never lost. One of the many teaching opportunities she loved was serving as den mother for several years. Another passion of hers was playing the organ — she played for the Nash Baptist Church for many years. You would find her most days gardening or reading through her Bible.

She is survived by her husband, Henry C. LeForce; two sisters, Ethel Fern Hildinger and Betty Ann Reed; her three children, Randall and Cyndi LeForce, H. Jefferson and Dorrie LeForce, and Jennifer and Glenn Roush. She was the proud grandmother of three boys, Will and Matthew LeForce, and Deason Roush.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Lee Stevens.

Funeral service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Enid, Okla., on Monday, June 30, 2014, at 2 p.m. Graveside will be held at Pond Creek Cemetery following the funeral service. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at Wilson Funeral Home in Pond Creek, Okla.
