Michael "Mike" Jon Townley, 41, of Wilson Circle, Carrollton died Wednesday, April 30, 2008.
Mr. Townley was born in Carroll County on Dec. 20, 1966, the son of Robert G. Townley and Marion Olson Townley. He worked as a deputy sheriff with the Carroll County Sheriff's Office for 21 years.
Survivors include his wife, Tracy Gabriel Townley; daughter, Kayla Townley of Dallas; son, Trey Townley; step-son, Ty Caldwell, all of Carrollton; parents, Robert G. and Marion Townley; sister and brother-in-law, Terri and Dr. Brent Deen of Ringgold; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Gosia Townley of Warsaw, Poland; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chuck and Elizabeth Gabriel of Carrollton; paternal grandmother, Marjorie Townley of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and maternal grandmother, Hilda Keranen of Rapid River, Mich.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3, at 2 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Gentry, Sheriff Terry Langley, and Rev. Terry Calhoun officiating. The Carroll County Sheriff's Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers and escorts. Honorary pallbearers will be Cale Stuckenschneider, David Jordan, Joel Richards, David Lyle, Craig Musselwhite, Billy Harp and Carroll County and all other public safety agencies.
The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home in Carrollton on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be sent the American Cancer Society, 301 Kelly Drive Suite 3, Peachtree City, GA 30269, Tanner Cancer Center, 165 Clinic Avenue, Carrollton, GA 30117, or a favorite Charity of Choice.
